This version contains the following improvements:
- Missing product data can now be imported from within the Reconstruction tool.
For registered customers, a CD is available with individual vd4 files for thousands of application programs; the Reconstruction tool searches automatically for matching vd4 files containing the missing product data. We send you gladly the current product CD for a charge of 26,00 EUR net . Owners of the reconstruction 2.0 need additionally the upgrade liable to pay costs to the version 2.2 for the operability of the CD. - Extended support for product-specific Plug-ins.
Description
- Full or partial reading out of programmed devices of an EIB system (with all parameter settings, group address assignments)
- Reading out EIB systems, created by ETS1 or ETS2, is also possible, as long as the product data (*.vdx) are available.
- Comparison of read-out data with the project planning data
- Conversion of read-out data into a ETS 3 project.
In this way lost or unavailable project planning data may be restored. - New Feature to reconstruct single Devices
- The available functions in Reconstruction may be restricted by the used ETS3 license.

If you have a Reconstruction 2.0 license, these function are not available. If you want to use the new functions you may order a dongle upgrade to version 2.1/2.2 (price: 30,00 EUR). Please send us the rtc file of your dongle inthis case.
If Reconstruction is used without license (key), it runs in Demo mode with the following restrictions:
- No project files can be loaded or saved.
- Only devices with addresses in the range 1.1.1 to 1.1.10 are read out and reconstructed.
- The read data can be reconstructed only into a new project.
- The function Update Project is not available.
With the IT Reconstruction it is possible to regain lost or non up-to-date ETS project data by reading out the plant.
The Reconstruction tool discovers all the devices connected to the Bus and collects all the data from the relevant storage. Having gained the relevant product data from the plant, it tries to generate an ETS project which exactly would cause those
device data. Details concerning the efficiency and limits of the Reconstruction tool you can find in the Online Help (after installing the Reconstruction).
Details
This data can be recovered:
- Topology (areas and lines)
- Devices
- Individual address
- Used application program
- Parameter settings
- Communication object flags and priority
- Assigned group addresses
This data is not programmed into the devices and therefore cannot be recovered:
- Building and function structure
- Names and descriptions of areas, lines, devices and group addresses
Restrictions: In some cases, reconstruction might fail or finish incomplete:
- Devices locked with an unknown BCU password cannot be read.
- Devices that are programmed with an ETS Plug-in, can be read and reconstructed only if the device manufacturer supports this (by a corresponding Reconstruction Plug-in).
- Some application programs contain parameters that are not programmed into the device (e.g. comments for documentation). These functionally ineffectual parameters can therefore not be recovered.
- It is possible that application programs exist with complex parameter interdependencies that cannot be resolved by IT Reconstruction (the message "Parameter reconstruction incomplete" will appear). Please contact our Support in this case, we will then try to find a solution.
